Slot Terms Glossary
Key terminology used across this site, explained in context of Razor Shark's mechanics.
Rtp
RTP (Return to Player): The percentage of total money wagered that a slot returns to players over time. Razor Shark's default RTP is 96.70%, meaning €96.70 returned per €100 wagered across millions of spins. This is a statistical average, not a guarantee per session.
Volatility
Volatility: How a slot distributes its payouts. High volatility (like Razor Shark) means fewer but larger wins. Low volatility means smaller, more frequent returns. Razor Shark sits at the extreme end of high volatility.
Scatter
Scatter: A special symbol that triggers bonus features regardless of payline position. In Razor Shark, the Sea Mine is the Scatter — 3 or more anywhere on the grid activate Free Games.
Wild
Wild: A symbol that substitutes for other symbols to complete winning lines. Razor Shark's Wild is the Great White shark, paying 50× for five of a kind — the highest regular symbol payout in the game.
Multiplier
Multiplier: A value that multiplies your win amount. In Razor Shark's Free Games, the global multiplier starts at 1× and increases by 1 for every Mystery Stack nudge. It has no upper limit.
Free Spins
Free Spins / Free Games: A bonus round where you spin without paying per spin. Razor Shark's Free Games have no fixed count — the round continues until all Mystery Stacks leave the grid.
Mystery
Mystery Stacks: Seaweed symbols that appear in stacks of 4 on any reel. They trigger the Nudge & Reveal feature, moving down one row per spin and revealing either pay symbols or Golden Sharks.
Hit Rate
Hit Rate: The percentage of spins that produce any win. Razor Shark's base game hit rate is approximately 27%, meaning roughly 1 in 4 spins returns something — though most returns are small.
Paylines
Paylines: Fixed lines across the grid where matching symbols must land to form wins. Razor Shark has 20 fixed paylines. You always bet on all 20 — they can't be adjusted.
Grid
Grid: The reel layout. Razor Shark uses a 5×4 grid — 5 columns (reels) and 4 rows, giving 20 visible symbol positions per spin.
Cascade
Nudge & Reveal: Razor Shark's cascade equivalent. When Mystery Stacks land, they nudge down one position per spin, revealing symbols underneath. This continues until the stack drops off the bottom of the grid.
Max Win
Max Win: The highest possible payout. Razor Shark's max win is officially 'infinite' due to the uncapped Free Games multiplier. The highest recorded win is 85,475× the bet.
Autoplay
Autoplay: Automatic spinning with preset limits. Razor Shark offers 10, 20, 50, or 100 auto-spins with configurable loss limits (×5 to ×100) and single win limits.
Bonus Buy
Bonus Buy: A feature that lets you pay to trigger the bonus round instantly. Razor Shark does NOT have this feature — you must trigger Free Games naturally. The sequel Razor Returns does include bonus buy.
Razor Reveal
Razor Reveal: Razor Shark's signature feature. When Mystery Stacks reveal Golden Shark symbols, each golden tile becomes a mini-reel that awards Bet Multiplier Coins (1× to 2,500×) or extra Scatters.
